Tink received excellent care. We didn’t know what was wrong with Tink but she wouldn’t eat and was lethargic. Tink has never been away from me! They were compassionate and handled tink with care. I felt like I was leaving her in an actual human hospital. The doctors and students were knowledgeable and thorough. They acted quickly to get tink stabilized and after an overnight stay I was able to take her home. The doctors explained the care and medication she would need at home. They called the next day to check on her.

I brought my cat in to the emergency clinic one evening after I noticed she seemed to be having trouble breathing. The first vet we saw gave us a very grim impression of my cat's health. She asked repeatedly if I would like an electrocardiogram performed and I repeatedly started I would contact my cat's regular vet for that test. The vet painted a very dire picture for us and reported that, based on an ultrasound she performed, Margot likely had congestive heart failure, which she described in great detail and even went as far as saying that my cat could experience blood clots, which could end up causing paralysis for her. She recommended keeping Margot overnight (which I consented to, believing she was very ill) in order to continue observation and administer meds to treat the congestive heart failure. HOWEVER...when my regular vet's office did an electrocardiogram, she found NO SIGN of congestive heart failure, no sign of fluid accumulating in her lungs, etc. The ECG did not show any heart enlargement, which the Purdue vet said was present in the ultrasound. I spent close to $2000 at the Purdue emergency clinic and walked away from there believing my cat was gravely ill. As it turned out, she's as healthy as she has ever been. I would love to have about $1500 of that money back. I understand the up-front fee of $500 (although that's a lot of money) for an exam but the other $1500 seems to have been completely unnecessary.
